09.06.2006 / Richard is permanent singer of Mono Band /

Noel has posted new biography on myspace. It reveals that he has chosen Richard Walters to be the permanent singer for Mono Band:

The Mono Band Story

While working on Mono Band's first few tracks, Noel initially decided to work with various singers in order to give each track a different sound. Half-way through the album, however, Noel was sent a track by Oxford singer-songwriter Richard Walters. Upon listening to the track, Noel immediately called up Richard to ask if he was interested in recording a track for Mono Band's album. While working together, both Noel and Richard realised that they couldn't just quit after one track. One song led to another and soon Richard was fronting Mono Band at various gigs around the UK and the USA.

The unmistakable musical chemistry between Noel and Richard is now creating new buzz and new tunes. With the "bones of an album" together, with mixes by Bernard Butler (ex Suede/McAlmont & Butler) and Cenzo Townsend who has been working with Kaiser Chiefs and The Ordinary Boys, Mono Band are planning a world-wide release, touring and a new and intriguing sound only Richard Walters and Noel Hogan can create.

4 tracks of Mono Band are available for buying and preview on www.indiestore.com/monoband. It includes Waves, Home and two demos: Black Hair and Breathe (never posted before).

'Sleep Song' is a 3rd demo of Mono Band provided by Noel Hogan (this time it can be found on MB's official website in the 'download' section). New songs will replace some older ones from the first edition of their album.

'Elephant In The Room' is a song recorded by Richard and Guy Sigsworth. Guy has worked dozens of artists, including: Madonna, Bjork, Seal, Talvin Singh, Jem, Britney Spears, Lamb, Robyn, Sugababes, Juliet, Temposhark and many, many others!

"'Elephant In The Room' is a song I've co-written with Richard Walters, who lives in Oxford. I gave him a CD of the backing track. Later, he came in to work with me on something else. Just before he was about to leave, I asked him if he'd written anything for the "Elephant In the Room". He went into the vocal booth. What you're hearing is his first take, with just a couple of fix-ups in the outro. A great, great singer." - Guy about the song.

'Elephant In The Room' was available before as a demo version on Richard's profile on MySpace.
